I started getting thousands of requests for Babysitters/Idols stuff through the shop website, and everyone said they found me through this notice board.. so I logged on and found ............it really is FIENDS RE-UNITED.I couldn't believe it. I thought I'd got rid of Daniele for ever!! Bollocks. I saw Shuff at Gossips a couple of months ago, he runs it full time now, with Saturdays like it was back in the 80's. I always had shops, the Babysitters were formed in my Carnaby St. shop in '82. I sold clothes to the stars (Darling), Hanoi Rocks are wearing my suits on the 'Mystery City' album. But Jimbo made the best suits out of duvet covers and lace.I just received a video of the 'sitters in Carnaby St for the first cable t.v. broadcast, there is Mike Reid and a bloke from 'Cool and the Gang' dancing to 'Everybody loves you when you're dead'..what a couple of Planks...but we look quite good..??
The Rock 'n' Roll Chicken came about when somebody threw a chicken at Jimbo, and a photo later revealed that the chicken had spread it's feet across the fret board and had played a 'G' chord...I still have the photo.
I have been asked to write a book about my time in the '80's Glam/punk thang, and have decided to have a go. It could be a big book, and may take a year or so to get all the details in order. I wouldn't change a thing, it was all good. Hi Carl thanks for your interest over the past year,...and in the meantime, Carol Clerk, (ex Melody Maker), has wriiten the 'Saga of Hawkwind' due for release in September, the Babysitters have a chapter in there about our time with them on the '86 tour.. that was quite a good one!

If you need some pics for the book I could dig some out. I have a few mag clippings as well.
I got some bootlegs of some of the Babysitter gigs I went to if you want to jolt the memory.
Oh yeah and I still got the video of the LOTTI that you gave me the last time we met up in Dudley JB's!
Maybe I can return it to ya !??!! LOL

HA!!! No need to thank me for any interest! I should be thanking you for giving me something to have an interest in! So, without further ado, "thank you for giving me something to have interest in other than my family, which has become neglected due to all these old guys from my past 'music hunting' days choosing to show up on a site I became addicted to 7 years ago!'

I'm just realizing that the interview I did of you awhile back will probably become obsolete to the new folks who wander on here as I am sure that all of that stuff will be discussed through time here. So I think I should try and pass a rule that people may only talk to you about your shop and what you did AFTER your music career (singing in the "loo" is no career either, BTW) ended.

If only I had any power here, that move might work. But alas, I am a poor poster who has no life...

Onto your book: that sounds like a killer idea, and I would buy a couple of those, signed of course! My book is being set aside for a differemt project that will hopefully open new doors for my book. But if you do one, there is no way I will be able to cover the 80's UK as well as you or most who lived it. Ah, what I wouldn't give to have been able to be there instead of reading about it in the pages of Kerrang! via my bedroom in small town USA.

Well, welcome to our escape from reality that costs a bit less than drugs, but is by no means better for you! Throw your shop info into your signature and maybe some of us will make a special trip there to buy lots of goodies and bug you to tell us campfire stories about your past! [img]wink.gif[/img]

I had both the LP of The Bsitters and the TOD lp as well, bought when they were current. Unfortunately, they were both "appropriated" along with the rest of my record collection many years ago.

I'd like to know something, why did you change the song "Everybody Loves..Dead" from TOD to the LP? Was it because the original(TOD)version was musically a pastiche of "Personality Crisis" and "I Fought The Law"? The Elvisoid LP version was good as well. Why didn't you recut "Livin' Out RocknRoll"?

Why did TOD start out to be a sampler of early 1980s neo-glam, but end up being mostly reissues of non-punk by punk bands posing as something else? Example: "Waiting For The Siege" was by Swell Maps, but listed on the LP as being Nikki Sudden solo.

Whatever happened to Bad Detective? I loved that song of theirs, "Favourite Record".

Any plans to reissue any of that on CD?
